Bonus points if you can identify what vehicle is attached to the taillight on the right side of this picture.

Land Rover Discovery sport.

So a new Mitsubishi dealer just opened around the corner from my place. So many Mirages and G4's. So much hideousness.
It’s depressing.

My credit score went down 100 points just from seeing this picture.

In 40 years we’ll look at the Mirage G4 the way we look at cars like the Subaru 360 and 2CV now . Change my mind.

Honestly I don't hate the Mirage hatchback. It serves a purpose by being very cheap and coming with a good warranty. Not everyone is interested in buying a used car at that price and then hoping it'll last. I'm not saying I'd buy one, but I don't mind the hatchback. Plus it comes in bright colors.

I think we might look back that way at the Mirage hatchback. Not so sure about the sedan. Like I said in another comment, they definitely serve a purpose.

I figured somebody would get it, but I’m impressed at your quickness.

Yeah, they’re actually not that cheap compared to their competitors. You can get a base Chevy Spark LS with 25% more power, more standard equipment, similar fuel mileage, and equally fun colors for about $500 less.

If this picture had been taken a few weeks earlier, there would still be a tall building in the background. RIP Martin Tower.

There’s one that lives up the ro ad from me.

Its a pretty distinctive design.

Whenever I see a Mirage I look for the hilarious back up camera. Because who is STILL buying a Mirage ?!

Did the base price of the Mirage go up? When it came out, it seemed like the cheapest car on the road and it came with a great warranty.

I initially thought it was a Mazda CX-7

But they’re very affordable!!!
What I find interesting is, probably due to the Trump Tariff War, you can get the Mirage hatchback in Canada for CAD$12,592 (about US$9500)
while the cheapest version of the same Mirage hatch in the USA goes for US$13,795

One of my neighbors did. We’re likely to see more too, because everyone who lives here is broke and most of their cars are 10+ years old. Including me now (2008 F-150)!

They’re about $500 more than a Chevy Spark LS here in the US , but the Chevy has more equipment and about 25% more power.

They’re $13,795 base in the US right now. Whether the Spark has dropped or the Mirage has increased, I’m not sure. But I was curious a few weeks back and priced out the cheapest cars on the market.
I was shocked to find out how little the Mirage actually gives you for your money. Being about 25hp down on its cheaper competition is especially surprising.
If the Mirage cost $11,500 base, it’d make more sense. But not at nearly $14k.

It’s possible that the base model used to be even more spartan, but then they added a few features and bumped up the price.
Not that I’m in the market, but if I had to buy a brand new car for super cheap, I’d go with a manual Yaris sedan.

I was leaning toward Honda Odyssey but I totally missed the fender. Your answer makes more sense.

I saw quite a few of these when I was in New York in 2016

Pretty sure that’s a Discovery Sport.
There were also at least 3 Mirage G4s sold, those 2, and the one my friend’s ex GF bought.

Asleep at 6:30pm eastern? What's your work schedule like these days?

I don’t Oppo outside of work, so anything after about 4 pm usually doesn’t get checked til the next morning.
